Hello everyone!

First off, I would like to say happy fourth of July!  I hope everyone had a great 3 day weekend!

For me, I took a short road trip to Martha's Vineyard, MA!

Me and a friend traveled all the way to Massachusetts by car but it was pretty rough since Hurricane Arthur was traveling with us. He wanted to crash the party and we just wanted him to go away. And that's how I imagined the whole scenario. Haha!

I do have to admit, one of the best things about the vacation was the food. So much good and new meals to try! The one on the left is rabbit sausage with herbs, wild boar with cranberries and a Guinness flavored brat wurst at an Irish brunch place. They also had a ton of Irish Tea which was to die for! The other photo is from The Black Dog Tavern, and we had clam chowder and a crab cake sandwich. There was so much seafood and yumminess that I couldn't contain myself! So good! *Droool*

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Edward Gorey's house/ museum. He's a great illustrator that has great line and ink work. He knows how to use lines to create darker shades of black and to move the eye along. A lot of his work is related to death and horror but it's fantastic! Below are just some photos of the place.

Since the hurricane came during Fourth of July, we ended up going to Martha's Vineyard a day late. But it was fine cause the weather was amazing!! So nice that we got a bike to tour the island and it was a fantastic day to do so!

We ended up at the other side of the Island and visited the beach and Gay Head Cliffs. Something about this place is so peaceful and quaint. It was a nice break to see from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beach was a little painful since it was covered with big rocks and seagulls kept trying to eat our food but other than that it was fun! I want to say that I got a little darker or tanner but I would probably be lying.

But it was a great vacation in all! We did a lot of random things and we did have adventure! I learned a lot about myself- more about what makes me feel relaxed and what I would do regarding my future. It's such a great place to just empty all your thoughts out and take in space in your head. Even through all the rough patches of the trip, I'm glad I went!

So that was my adventure! I hope everyone had a great vacation and that they learned or gained something from it.

Till next time!

Have you ever had a moment where you stopped to look in a mirror and realize how much you have grown?

Well I have... and I do have to admit, I'm pretty surprised.

IMG_20140619_113934.jpg

You see, exactly one year ago, I was laid off from my first job after graduation. I felt really angry and sad because it was not a clear cut situation of why I was let go- the line was very blurred between legit reason and favoritism and personal influences. Whatever, it's done.

But in any case, it was a life changing situation.

You see, that event made me rethinking everything in my life. From what I want to do to what I need to survive. I learned about the power of money and what it takes to survive on my own. I learned that losing a job isn't the worst thing in the world but looking for one feels like the worst torture one can feel. But the the most important lesson I think I gained is the concept and experience of dating and realizing what I want in my life.

Looking back on the pass year, I went through a ton of experiences- First date, horrible date, awesome date, weird date, first boyfriend, first break up, first love, first unemployment and more! And I am so glad to experience every weird, funny, sad, horrible, upsetting event.

And of course the best way to show my appreciation is to share it with you guys.

So that is how the story One Flight Up! was created. It was to keep track of all the growth I made, while making it an interesting journey for you to read along with.

Today, the Promo chapter is up! Click here to read it! You can take a peak of what the story is going to be like.

A new chapter will be uploaded every Wednesday, unless noted otherwise.

Please note this story is also for ages 16 and up. There are some stuff that might not be suitable for younger readers.

Please enjoy! And till next time!
